ABOUT ARTTALKS:ARTWALKS
Arttalks :Artwalks is organised and delivered by Amanda Croft, MA, ADE – a specialist in twentieth century and contemporary Irish art. She has worked as an art historian and lecturer for over thirty-five years and is a former Teaching Fellow and Head of the History of Art department at Queen’s University Belfast.
Amanda also curates exhibitions, conducts gallery tours, writes critical reviews and was the Art Advisor for the UTV Art Collection – one of Ireland’s finest corporate collections of contemporary Northern Irish art.
- ART NOW gallery tours – will introduce you to a different exhibition and venue each week and highlight a range of artistic practice by local, national and international artists
- Sculpture & Public Art tours – concentrate on the development and diversity of contemporary public art and sculpture in Belfast and its environs
- Lecture series – art history lectures on a range of topics from the 19th & 20th centuries to contemporary Irish and International Art. These take place at Queen's University and the Ulster Museum - see Courses and Events for details.
- One day themed seminars – comprise 3 to 4 talks by specialist guest lecturers offering an in-depth art historical and critical examination of a specific topic.
- Bespoke art based talks and tours - specific events can be organised to suit the interests of arts societies, small groups or individuals.
- Workshop visits to artists’ studios – an opportunity to see the workshops and studios of practising artists.
- Artists’ talks & demonstrations – may be organised on request
- Visits to Dublin - Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin City Gallery, the Hugh Lane, National Gallery of Ireland, and to the Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda. See Courses and Events for details.
- Group visits to major exhibitions in London - Tate Gallery, National Gallery, Royal Academy, Courtauld Gallery etc., - Liverpool and Glasgow. See Courses and Events for details.
